Empowering Chesapeake Students

Imagine a place in every school where students can access essential items without fear of judgment or embarrassment. This vision is becoming a reality thanks to the Chesapeake Public Schools Educational Foundation and The Office of Family and Community Engagement. Through their innovative Care Spaces initiative, they're transforming schools into havens of support and inclusivity. Here's a glimpse into this remarkable endeavor.

From Chesapeake Public Schools Educational Foundation:

“The Chesapeake Public Schools Educational Foundation in partnership with The Office of Family and Community Engagement are working to install Care Spaces in every Chesapeake School. Our mission is to provide a safe space for students to go for items free of embarrassment. Some of our schools chose to use an existing closet to house items for students in need while others chose to have a wall-mount display filled with hygiene items and school supplies. Each Care Space is individualized and tailored to the needs of the community it serves. Schools receive a form each month to request items needed to stock their space. If you would like to contribute to our project, please visit cpsef.com. All donations are appreciated and directly impact our Chesapeake students.”
